Mommy Dearest (8/2 Thursday Eve, open) Empty Mommy Dearest (8/2 Thursday Eve, open)

Axel had been in the library all day looking through old books, his sleeves had caught dust around the wrists, and library staff were arguing over who would put them all away. The books ranged from the history of Athens to the history of the world, with some mythology books and a few books on DJ techniques. He was on his second cycle of mp3 players, all four had died at least once, and his third was at low battery again, luckily the fourth should be fully charged and the first two were on charge; which also made the staff frown. Anyone that neared him could hear him murmuring 'The mother, the mother' on occasion, and would just be able to hear the music in his ear, letting them know speaking to him would not get his attention.

He moves through what seems like a dozen more books before reaching a very old text. It appeared to be one about mythology. Greek mythology. He opened it, only to have a vellum envelope fall into his lap. Much like the old days, there is a wax seal on the front, keeping the envelope closed from prying eyes. It has never been broken. The seal itself is recognizeable as that belonging to one of the sea.

Axel heeds his low battery swapping music players once more and then shrugs off doubt figuring what the hell, opening the letter to view it's contents. He does so carefully however as he does not wish to destroy the the seal or tear the letter.

The seal of wax must be broken in order to read the contents. Despite exactly how careful he was being, he opens it with the destruction of the seal. The page within remains whole and unmarred. He slides it forth, and opens it. Revealed is a letter in Greek.

-To the One Reading This

You have heard the warning given on the wind, and so have heeded it's instruction. Bravo to you. Like Alice in Through the Looking Glass, you have followed your curiosity. What I am about to tell you, will certainly test your vision of your place in this world, and precisely how much of a blessing the blood that runs in your veins is.

Your world as you know it is going to change very soon. You were only the son of God, and a reluctant one at that. Now, because of that blood in your veins, you will be hunted. Some will have an easier time hiding. Others, there will be no way that they can. Either way, all of you must learn how to use what has been given you.

There are things that would call you abomination. People and cults that would believe the mixing of god and human so freely is a sin, a wrong, a blight. That you are going tobe a disease upon mankind. They aren't far from the truth, and yet they're so wrong, there is no way to be right. The tangled web we weave.

You are to copy this letter, word for word. By hand. Give it to two tohers that you have met that are like you. of God and of man. We will gather as one on the sixth. You will meet the woman who will teach you. You must learn how to defend, how to blend, how to fight, and how to survive. Tell no one but those like you. You will know them for how they resonate, son of Apollo.

Go with the Gods,

The Mother.

With that he stopped cold, the letter chilled him to the bone... He had read the letter as if a joke until those words, 'son of Apollo', those words would haunt him. He glanced around moving only his eyes, looking into reflective surfaces and such seeking prying eyes. On one hand he hoped it true, that a divine source had called him, and that no mortal knew the truth, but if that were the case, soon mortals would know. His head sunk as he stared at the paper and finally with a heavy sigh grabbed a few sheets of paper and a pen from his bag in the shape of a quill. He wrote left handed and took his time doing so as he was usually right handed, so that should these fall into the wrong hands his writing would not match. Once done, he placed the original in his bag, closed into his laptop, and the others in a separate pocket. Finally he left a note written with his right hand for the staff, apologizing for the immense mess and leaving a twenty, after all, he had gone through a book case worth of books. He then hurried off to find these others, wondering what sort of resonance might he be able to see.
